Real estate surveyors are in demand both in the UK and globally. At London Met we have designed a conversion course which offers opportunity for non-cognate graduates to enter this exciting industry. Our course has been developed with industry partners to provide students with exposure to the latest initiatives and best practices to produce highly skilled and valued surveyors who are able to effectively lead and support the delivery of commercial real estate development, valuation, acquisition, management, and disposal across the globe. You will achieve this through immersing yourself in authentic industry scenarios and use industry standard technology to improve your skills and enhance your employability prospects. You will work with established national and international organisations operating within the real estate sector. You will have opportunities to visit live projects and national and global real estate organisation offices to experience first-hand the challenges, excitement, and opportunities a career in commercial real estate can offer. All this whilst studying in our vibrant campus within a 10-minute tube journey of the City and West End. More about this course Today’s organisations seek postgraduates with industry focussed degrees and employability skills relevant to the modern global workplace. The London School of the Built Environment at London Metropolitan University is committed to developing employable graduates by ensuring that career development skills are embedded in all our courses. We study the design, planning, financing, construction and operation of organisations, products, buildings, infrastructure, and places within which people live, work, travel and play. We have strong links with employers active in all aspects of the built environment, involving them in curriculum design and encouraging their participation in other aspects of the University’s career education and guidance provision. There is a consistent demand for postgraduate qualified commercial real estate professionals nationally and internationally, working in a variety of areas such as development, valuation, management, agency and finance. Whether you are new to the subject or already on a career path in the built environment, all our students share a common aspiration to become expert in their chosen field and contribute towards the creation and maintaining of a sustainable built environment. Our location in London provides us with unparalleled access to some of the UK and the world’s largest and most prestigious real estate organisations, multi-disciplinary consultancies and industry professional bodies. On our doorstep are some of the UK’s most prestigious major urban redevelopment projects and landmark buildings. Your course will provide you with opportunities to engage with these organisations and projects through site visits and guest lectures and include working on live industry projects which will inform your course assessments. You will engage with practising real estate professionals, involved in developing property, maintaining the value of property and acquiring and disposing of property.
