Lead research from the front as you prepare for an exciting career in modern bioscience. Qualified science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) professionals have never been in higher demand across industries such as health, renewables, food and agriculture. This course will equip you with the core fundamental and specialist skills to work at the forefront of modern bioscience, using cutting-edge techniques to advance scientific discovery. As part of the programme, you’ll have the chance to immerse yourself in your own independent advanced research project and contribute to an area of science you’re passionate about. MSc Bioscience will prepare you for an exciting, varied career; whether in academia, a commercial setting or a public sector organisation. Many of our graduates progress to bioscience-related research (with some achieving scientific publication), teacher training, health and safety and pharmaceutical research. Note: This course requires a solid foundation in the molecular and cellular basis of life (e.g. knowledge of cell structure, function of proteins and organelles, DNA replication and gene expression) but you don’t need an undergraduate degree in this field before studying the MSc.
