This PhD programme covers the study of public and political theology, theology and ethical theory, and contemporary ethical issues. Staff specialisms include theology and politics; womanist and feminist theology; environmental and animal ethics. Research degrees guide you through an independent research project that you have proposed. Your supervisor(s) will work with you to establish the resources that you need for the successful conclusion of your degree. This will probably include attending suitable courses (not for credit) in the School of Divinity or the wider university. If you have an area of study in mind, please send your transcript and draft proposal to a member of staff (see the Research Supervisor section below). You will need to demonstrate that you are ready for PhD study and your topic fits the research interests of a staff member.
