Areas of study We offer research supervision in the history of art and architecture, including: - visual and material cultures - photography studies - sound studies - feminist and queer art history - British and North American art - surrealism and its legacies - art historiography and the history of art writing - history of museums and collections - Victorian art and architecture - Byzantine art - Renaissance art - art and empire We understand that deciding where and what to study is a very important decision. You’re normally expected to have a Masters degree and an upper second-class (2.1) undergraduate honours degree. Subject-specific requirements Your qualification should be in art history or a related subject such as history, architecture, English, archaeology, anthropology or cultural studies. You should also show evidence of engagement with art history at an advanced level. You may also be considered for the degree if you have other professional qualifications or experience of equivalent standing.
