Graduates of the Postgraduate Diploma in Educational Psychology (PGDipEdPsyc) will be able to describe and apply key concepts, principles, and theories in educational psychology. They will have a strong working knowledge of learning sciences, assessment, behaviour, and inclusion, integrating insights from psychology and education. They will critically evaluate research and evidence-based practices, using scientific reasoning and methods to analyse and interpret educational data and phenomena. Graduates will engage in integrative thinking and problem-solving, applying psychological principles to enhance teaching, learning, and student well-being. They will demonstrate ethical awareness in educational settings and incorporate bicultural confidence and competence, recognising their obligations under Te Tiriti o Waitangi. They will be able to communicate effectively in verbal and written formats across diverse professional and academic contexts, equipping them to contribute meaningfully to education, policy, and leadership in Aotearoa New Zealand and beyond.
